Since 1972 AIH Drapery and Blind Service has been serving Sarasota. Al Hernandez started AIH with a vision to put quality and service first, and he has done just that. In 1969, Al's dad began installing the drapes that Al's grandma, mom, and aunt were making. Soon, Al began learning the business, and in 1972 he went out on his own, forming AIH. Al's wife, Tammy, took care of the books and office work, and Al sold and installed the treatments. Together they raised two sons, who would help their dad install when he needed them, it was a true family business. After high school Jeff, Al's younger son, decided to learn the business. Jeff got a truck and worked installing while at the same time going to college. Once Jeff graduated college he decided to work full time with AIH, and has been handling most of the installs since. Soon, Al will get to retire and Jeff will take over the family business his dad started over 40 years ago. Since Al started AIH, he has built a name for himself and AIH as a company that Sarasota can count on, a reputation that Jeff intends to carry on. 

 

Rarely do businesses make it past the 40 year mark. It is a testament that AIH has earned the trust of home owners, designers, builders, and businesses all over the Sarasota area by putting quality and service first. Most of the business AIH does is the result of repeat business or referrals, because once you do business with AIH you are family.
